A Big Band Show Like No Other

Welcome to the History of the Big Bands where you will experience a rhythmic journey through the music of the world's greatest Big Band leaders with our star and host of the show, Andy Abraham and his breathtaking 13 piece Big Band. Filled with swinging tempos, toe tapping melodies and finger snapping standards - this is truly a Big Band show like no other. Prepare to be transported back in time when every dance hall and ballroom was filled with the great sounds of trumpets, saxophones, trombones, and of course, the driving pulse of the rhythm section.

With our fantastic band, musical arrangements and smooth yet swinging vocals, this is a pure swing show - how it used to be.

A Personal Message from Lead Singer Andy Abraham:

"Welcome to the History of the Big Bands! Come with me on a musical journey throughout the magical Big Band and Swing Era, as we visit the great songs and standards that make this a special time in music history!

It was a time when musical legends were created. Big Band leaders were considered to be the world's greatest instrumentalists at the time. Party goers revelled in the sounds of musical greats such as the blazing trumpet of Harry James, the wailing clarinet solos of Benny Goodman, the tender trombone tone of Tommy Dorsey, the orchestral manuscripts of Duke Ellington, the immaculate arrangements of Glenn Miller, the hard swinging piano style of Count Basie, the thundering clarinet of Woody Herman and finally the electric rhythms of the Buddy Rich.

I hope you enjoy the performance; the musicians are the real stars of the show, and we will go back to the days when Big Band music was the pop music of its time, an era of romance and glamour, when the magic of Hollywood's silver screen went hand in hand with music, when men were Guys and women were Dolls... let the old times play on tonight, and I hope you have a wonderful evening!"
